Key Stage 2 Writing Moderation

Implications from National Moderator Training

Outline

This course draws on the STA training materials which are freely available to all schools.

Description

This event will expand on the statutory National requirements from the 'Teacher Assessment Frameworks at the end of Key Stage 2' using the same materials and messages that Local Authority Moderators have received to ensure transparency of these procedures, giving delegates the opportunity to reflect on how national expectations are exemplified in their own school.

Good practice to achieve both 'expected' and 'at greater depth' writing standards will be covered and the latest STA recommendations shared.

Outcomes

By the end of the course, delegates will:
  • be fully aware of the Teacher Assessment Frameworks at the end of Key Stage 2 and all implications arising from this
  • be able to support staff making accurate judgements for the standard of writing at the end of Key Stage 2.
